I knew for a while that I wanted to propose to Tori. Finding the perfect ring took much more time than I anticipated though. It took a few months just to pick out a ring and a diamond, then another month or so to get it made and delivered.
Once the ring arrived, I knew I couldn't hold on to it for very long so I planned out what is not necessarily the perfect engagement, but the perfect engagement for me and Tori. I tried not to be cliche, but the only time we both really had available was during our two year anniversary.
I first gave Tori 2 dozen roses, 1 for every month we had been together. We then went on a walk in the UNCC Botanical Gardens. We started walking through and ironically there was a couple getting their engagement pictures taken at the same time. Tori wanted to take a picture of me walking across a bridge and then one of her walking across the bridge. When it was her turn to walk across, I walked up and pulled out another rose (a different color than the other 2 dozen) and told her that the other roses for how long we have been together and this rose was for the rest of our lives. I then got down on one knee, pulled out the ring and proposed!
The rest of the day was somewhat of a blur of emotion... We have been engaged for over a year now and cannot wait to finally get married in the fall!
